The Gathering is a mission-driven, gospel-centered church set out to reach the marginalized
individuals and families in our community.
We seek to reach the least, the last, and the lost.
The Gathering is a church that Glorifies God by centering our lives on prayer, living lives of discipleship, and sharing the hope and love of Jesus with the world.
We strive to live in community, serving and caring for one another. We welcome all to come as you are; even if that means they are wearing their pajama pants. You will feel safe and free to worship as you wish in a small, intimate setting. You will be loved and encouraged in your journey.
We care for the whole person and the whole family. Toys are available for the children and children are welcome and encouraged to stay with us during worship. We come alongside everyone to nurture your walk and help care for you and your children as you all grow in your faith and relationship with Jesus.
A meal is served most times we come together whether. We believe in the biblical act of breaking bread together, sharing in fellowship, and filling the physical need of a hot meal. Our worship style is modeled after the early Christian church in the book of Acts. For many, The Gathering is a place of love and belonging and keeps God at the center of everything.
The Gathering’s members have various backgrounds that allow us to relate to many people and their life circumstances. We can relate, understand, and sympathize with people because we have been through very similar journeys. We foster the transformation of lives through the restoration of the hope that Jesus Christ offers everyone. Some of the tangible ways this is accomplished is through telling our God stories, Bible studies, and our mental health support group, Hope for Mental Health.
Our guests feel as though they are included in this wholesome, fun, family that keeps our ultimate authority, scripture, in its original context to apply it to our daily lives and circumstances. We empower our members to live as the “priesthood of all believers” (1 Peter 2:5) and to follow the example of the early church in regard to growth and multiplication. We take seriously our charge from the Great Commission to make disciples and baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We strive to make everyone feel the unconditional love of God. We purposely avoid negativity, judgment, and condemnation while teaching scripture and holding people accountable for being responsible disciples of Christ.
We strive to give a renewed sense of hope and living in community to our community. We find the hurt and work in and through it to bring hope to the lives of our community members. We accomplish this by helping to find housing for those experiencing housing challenges, applying for grant monies to support all our surrounding community members, feeding the hungry, and offering free community-wide family events and concerts.
Jesus went to the people and so do we. We go to our community, even with our live-streamed worship gathering. We counter the long-held church thought of coming to us with going to them. We meet people where they are and how they are comfortable.
