Gathering News

Gathering Worship

Our weekly gathering is Sundays at 5 pm, in a space graciously offered to the church by the Auburn Presbyterian Church. This space, located in the basement of the Auburn Presbyterian Church,  at 111 W. 12th Street, Auburn, Indiana, in the heart of this beautiful city, and it is across from the historic Eckhart Public Library.

We care for the whole person and the whole family. Toys are available for the children and children are welcome and encouraged to stay with us during worship. We offer Sunday School for the children during discussion (sermon) time so that we all may learn on our own level. We come alongside everyone to nurture your walk and help care for you and your children as you all grow in your faith and relationship with Jesus.

A meal is served any time we come together whether. We believe in the biblical act of breaking bread together, sharing in fellowship, and filling the physical need of a hot meal. Our worship style is modeled after the early Christian church in the book of Acts. For many, The Gathering is a place of love and belonging and keeps God at the center of everything.

The Gathering’s members have various backgrounds that allow us to relate to many people and their life circumstances. We can relate, understand, and sympathize with people because we have been through very similar journeys. We foster the transformation of lives through the restoration of the hope that Jesus Christ offers everyone. Some of the tangible ways this is accomplished is through telling our God stories, a thriving youth group of 6th-12th graders called Axios, our mental health support group, Hope for Mental Health, a weekly Bible study.

Prayers

Weekly Prayer List

Weekly Prayer List

We believe in the power of prayer.  As such, we are a praying community and believe that a praying community is a healthy community.  Prayer is a large part of our DNA.  As such, team members are available for confidential prayer.  If you have a prayer request, please reach out to us here.

In addition, we believe in praying the prayer that Jesus taught us:

Our Father, in Heaven

Your name is Holy.

May your Kingdom come,

and your will be done,

Here on earth, as it is in Heaven.

Give us our daily bread and

forgive us our wrongs,

as we will forgive those,

who have wronged us.

Help us to avoid temptation

And deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the Kingdom,

the power and the Glory,

Forever and Ever,

Amen

Hope for Mental Health

"50% of adults will develop a mental illness in their lifetime. This staggering reality can feel daunting, but there is HOPE for mental health."  This group is meant for those who have, have had, or love someone diagnosed with a mental illness.  It is our prayer that this program can shine a light into the lives of its attendees and bring hope to a sometimes hopeless situation.

"No one gets better alone! No family should walk through a mental health crisis alone. We all need a support system of family, friends, mental health professionals, support groups, and a faith community in challenging times." - Hope for Mental Health Resource Guide,

2015

Hope for Mental Health support gathering meets  on Thursdays at 6 pm, in our space at  111 W. 12th Street Auburn, IN 46706.   Contact us with any questions.

Dynamic Discipleship: Building Unsinkable Faith (Bible Study)

The Gathering will lead a Bible study that is open to the entire community on Mondays at the Garrett Public Library community room.

The Bible study is Mondays from 6:30-7:30 pm.

We are excited to share this time with our community and to bring people together.  This will be a great study for new believers, seekers, and those seasoned in their faith.  Peter will be the topic of discussion.  We look forward to seeing you there!
